The atmosphere was vibrant from the moment I arrived. There was a quiet sense of history being made—a new tradition beginning, thoughtfully and beautifully curated by the Hasselblad Foundation. Everything was in place, yet nothing felt rigid. The space was alive with energy, conversation, and curiosity.
Meeting the jury was a true highlight. These were not just experts behind closed doors—they were present, open, and sincerely interested in hearing from us photographers. Our conversations weren’t just about technique or trends—they were about meaning. About what drives us to create, and what we hope our images can say when words fall short.
And then there were the other artists. So many voices, so many visions. I was moved by how personal, daring, and deeply honest many of the projects were. Every photographer brought a different world into the room—each frame holding a story, a question, a memory, or a challenge. There was no competition in the air, only respect and quiet admiration.
What made the evening truly special was the way it was organized—not just as an event, but as an experience. The Hasselblad Foundation gave us a platform, but also gave us space: to talk, to reflect, to connect. That sense of generosity and professionalism made the vernissage feel like more than just an opening—it felt like a beginning.
I left filled with gratitude. To be part of this first Fotosalong, to have met so many talented souls, and to have felt seen—not just as a photographer, but as a storyteller.
Thank you to the Hasselblad Foundation for this gift. It truly was a memory for life.
